Getting there...
 |
Traveling to Casa Ensueño is easy. Several major airlines fly
direct to Managua from Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Atlanta . It’s about a 3-hour direct flight from Houston and then approximately a
2 to 3-hour drive from the airport
to the coast. |
|
It’s best to rent a
4 X 4 vehicle at the airport from several major car rental agencies such
as Dollar, Hertz and Budget with insurance. This allows you maximum
flexibility to explore and discover local sites. Another option is to
arrange for a personal car and driver to meet you as you exit customs
and take you directly to Casa Ensueño. The driver can also provide your
return transportation. The cost is about $135 each way, depending on how
many people. Confirm rate as cost of gas fluctuates. Please keep in mind
that without a rent car you will have to walk a short distance to the restaurant and many of
the other amenities within the development. It is possible to rent a car
once you arrive at the house. Check with Hamilton, our gardener, for
details. |

If your flight arrives late and you want to stay the night in Managua,
you can make reservations at several hotels. The most convenient
is Las Mercedes across the street from the airport. Other options
include Hotel Intercontinental, Camino Real, Holiday Inn and Princess.
Most have shuttles to/from airport. |
|
If you want to pick up food, you can shop for groceries at the huge
modern hyper market in Managua called La Colonia. Pali is another
grocery chain in Managua and Rivas. Pali in Rivas is your
best option if you want to stock up with good selection and price on the
way in.
